During the Christmas season of 2012, the Ranch was contacted by someone in our community who had a mare for us to consider. We were not really interested in getting another horse but went to visit the prospective offer. In passing, she mentioned that the mare was rescued with a foal. While we were visiting, we asked if we could see the baby… because who doesn’t love babies?! Needless to say, it was love at first sight. When Shadow was led into the barn there was something in his demeanor that made hope stir in our hearts. Shadow came to the Ranch as a baby and at Christmas. He is a reminder that God is ALWAYS in control, things ALWAYS happen in His timing, and we are all under the shadow of the Almighty. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1. When you meet Shadow, take time to breathe deeply, look around, and be thankful that you are loved by the Most High.
