The Ranch was contacted by a community member who had a mare for us to consider. When we went to evaluate her, we discovered she had a foal at her side. We asked to see the foal—because who doesn't love babies?—and it was truly love at first sight.
When Shadow was led into the barn, something in his demeanor made hope stir in our hearts. He is a beautiful reminder that God is always in control, everything happens in His perfect timing, and we are all safely under the shadow of the Almighty. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1.
Breed Information:
Tennessee Walker - In the late 19th century, farmers from Middle Tennessee crossbred multiple smooth-gaited horses. Their goal was to create a horse that could provide a comfortable ride over rough terrain and farmland. This breed traces its lineage back to a black stallion named Black Allan.
Arabian - As the oldest purebred horse, the Arabian originated in the Middle East and was used by the Bedouin people as a war horse. This breed is hot-blooded, sensitive, and highly intelligent.
Lipizzaner - In 1580, the stud farm of Archduke Charles II of Austria crossbred several European and Middle Eastern bloodlines with Karst horses. At the time, the Habsburg monarchy wanted strong, athletic, and elegant horses for military and classical riding. Today, this breed is well known due to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.
