Do you love KIDS? Do you have a heart for KIDS’ ministry? Are you a life guard who loves KIDS or a musician who loves worshiping with KIDS? Do you want to have an extra special summer spending time with some extra special KIDS at Strong Tower Ranch? Are you age 15+? Are you available for a week long commitment? Day Camp Position Details:

Who You Serve: The campers and camp staff
Role: to prepare and oversee your specific activity; to be familiar with the Biblical Truth connected to each activity and be prepared to share this with each group
Responsibilities:

Reports To: Staff Manager, Camp Manager
Who You Serve: The campers and camp staff

- Be on site ahead of Group’s arrival
- Prepare and check all equipment/area
- Share relevant Biblical truths outlined in Activity Handbook/training
- Direct Team Leaders and Guides as to how they can help
- Ensure Camper safety as a top priority
- Check all equipment and area after Group leaves
- Check inventory and let Manager know of any supply needs
- Check in with Staff Manager before leaving site or moving to new activity

Role: to equip and support Team Leaders in their responsibilities; teach or oversee the teaching of Bible lessons

Responsibilities:
- Attend Training
- Be familiar with and agree to the policies of Strong Tower Ranch
- Read Bible material and prepare for daily small group teaching
- Participate in daily morning meeting for Leaders and Managers
- Participate in afternoon meeting for Leaders and Managers
- Assist in Camper check-in on Monday morning
- Mentor Team Leaders and exemplify Team management
- Oversee completion of Team chores at the end of each day
- Touch base with Team Leaders and Guides throughout the day to encourage, equip, and make sure all needs and concerns are being cared for
- Communicate with Staff Coach or Camp Director any issues needing attention
- Assist Team Leader in handling Camper conflicts as needed. Apply this first: "Refocus, Reset, Rejoin"
- Coordinate with Team Leader and Director/Manager for Friday Parent Program
- Eat lunch with Team
- Make sure teams have supplies for the day/week
- Help teams stay on schedule; communicate with Schedule Manager if schedule needs adjusted
- Assist Team Leaders with communicating daily theme/Bible lesson/verse throughout the day
- Mentor Team Leader in managing his/her team, delegating jobs, leading by example
- Assist Water Safety Officer as directed
- Drive the van and wagon to transport Campers as needed
- Oversee the safe dismissal of Campers at the end of the day
- Pray for your Team and your Campers
- Assist Team Leader with attendance each morning
- Manage Campers who take medication at specific times. Get them to the First Aid office on time for the First Aider to administer
- Assist Team Leaders with managing and documenting any Camper or Leader behavior that requires discipline. Discuss with Director/Manager
- Understand and be familiar with procedures regarding suspected child abuse
- Communicate any concerns with Camp Director and document as necessary
- Be prepared to make a hotline call to DFS if necessary
- Have Team Leaders and Guides fill out Staff Camp Evaluation forms. Make sure they have turned it in to the manager by Friday.
- Assist Leaders in keeping track of salvations, verses memorized, kids wanting to be baptized, etc. Complete decision forms as necessary.
FIRST AID
Specific skills: first aid and CPR trained or EMT/Nurse/Trainee Nurse/Similar
Other requirements: ability to connect with children, fill out paperwork, stay calm in a medical emergency; minimum age 21

Responsibilities:
- Attend training
- Be familiar with and agree to all STR policies and procedures
- On Monday, receive all medications at Camper drop-off and check all medical forms
- Treat campers and staff members as needed for minor first aid issues, as your experience and expertise warrants
- Complete an incident report, whether treatment is required or not
- Contact parent/guardian if necessary
- Administer any daily medications that Campers may require
- Complete and monitor medication logs
- On Friday, return all medication to parent/guardian
- Pray for each child daily by name when going through the list. Pray for their safety and especially their spiritual needs
- As time permits, write thank you letters to sponsors
- Monitor and log any supply needs to Camp Manager
FOOD SERVICE
Special Skills: enjoy working as part of a team; ability to take direction and work to a deadline
Other Requirements: minimum age 14
Reports To: Kitchen Manager, Camp Manager
Who You Serve: The campers and camp staff; any onsite visitors eating lunch
Role: Assisting the Kitchen Manager in preparing and serving quality lunches and snacks

- Begin each day at time determined by Kitchen Manager: typically 9am-3pm
- Prepare and serve meals each day under direction of Food Service Manager (serving up to 100 campers and 70+ staff)
- Assist with inventory
- Clean and prep kitchen for next day
GUIDE

Role: to supervise and engage with a group of Campers throughout the day

- Initiate and complete end of day chores with your group
- Assist Team Leader with supervising a particular group of children
- Know where everyone is at all times
- Ensure Campers stay hydrated throughout the day
- Focus on Campers in your group, building them up, noting specific needs or circumstances.
- Spend time with each Camper individually before the end of the week, learn the status of their relationship with Jesus, and pray with them.
- Lead games and other activities as needed
- Assist Team Leaders with communicating daily theme/Bible lesson/verse throughout the day
- Monitor Campers using the restroom or who are away from the group
- Communicate with your Team Leader and Coach
- Coordinate with your Team Leader each day to determine your daily responsibilities.
- Focus attention on Campers during the swim/boat time.
- Assist Water Safety officer as directed
- Wear life vest when boating or outside swim area
- Be aware of all Camper swim levels
- Play with the children on the beach; use as a talking opportunity if they don’t want to swim
- Assist with/fill out Decision Forms when children in your group make a decision to follow Jesus
- Pray for your Team and your Campers
LIFEGUARD (MUST BE CERTIFIED; THIS IS A PAID POSITION)
Special Skills: lifeguard certified
Other Requirements: minimum age 16 (assistant) or 18 (head)
Reports to: Camp Manager, Program Director
Who You Serve: Campers; Camp staff
Role: the ensure the safety of all those using the lake area
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
- Present a copy of current certification
- Attend staff training and present Water Safety
- Spend time alone with the Lord every day, cover the swimming/boating/lake area with constant prayer
- Be at the lake 30 minutes before swim time
- Complete safety checks on the dock and swim area
- Wear lifeguard uniform (identifying t-shirt and shorts)
- Whistle and lifeguard tube provided
- Assume responsibility for the safety of the campers and staff in and around the water
- Keep accurate headcount of Campers during swim time
- Enforce all swimming rules
- On Monday, share water safety rules and perform the swim test on all campers
- Assign swim-level wristbands
- Implement buddy system: direct the pairing of campers and swimming buddies.
- Perform safety checks between group swim time
- Report all incidents or accidents to the Manager, who will determine the necessity of filling out an incident report form.
- Report all potential safety issues and needed supplies to the Manager.
- The Lifeguard is the authority over the entire swimming/boating area and is responsible for monitoring all areas, with the assistance of the Water Safety office.
MUSIC TEAM
Special Skills: play a musical instrument; sing; lead worship

Role: to lead a time of daily worship during Staff Meetings and Camper Meetings
Responsibilities:

Role: to oversee the smooth running of your Team and daily schedule; to supervise your group of Campers
Responsibilities:

- Participate in daily morning meeting for Leaders and Managers

- Coordinate your Team: assign and delegate different roles and responsibilities to your Guides
- Make sure you know where everyone is at all times
- Ensure Campers and Team stay hydrated throughout the day
- Take attendance at the beginning and end of each day (drop-off and pick-up). Inform Schedule Manager of any absences
- Lead your Team by setting the example
- Lead games and activities as needed
- Assist Coach in teaching daily Bible lesson
- Communicate the daily theme/Bible lesson/verse throughout the day
- Connect with your Team members throughout the day and share any
- concerns or needs with your Coach
- Communicate well with your Coach and Guides
- Connect with your Campers: get to know their stories and where they are with their relationship with the Lord
- Fill out Decision Forms when children in your group get counseled for salvation.
- Coordinate with the Water Safety Officer to ensure all areas are covered for swim time
- Position yourself on the swim dock during swim time
- Wear life vest when boating or outside swim area
- Be aware of all Camper swim levels
