Before coming to STR Cayden lived on a farm with only cows as her company. When she was donated to the Ranch she had to learn how to socialize with humans and horses. We gave her the name Cayden, meaning a battle maiden, fighter, friend or companion. You can relate this to your own life as you follow Jesus. He is an amazing friend and companion. You can always trust Him! Jesus will help guide us and give us the strength to be a warrior for Him. Psalm 144:1-2a “Praise be to the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. Breed Information:
Quarter Horse - This is the oldest recognized horse breed in the US. Their lineage traces back to a blending of Spanish and Native American horses. These horses excelled at printing short distances of no more than a quarter-mile. In Texas, a modern type of Quarter Horse was developed from the foundation stallion, Old Sorrel.
Venezuelan and Chilian Criollo - These breeds have the same foundational ancestors, the Iberian horses (Andalusian and Barb types). In the 16th century, Spanish conquistadors brought them to South America. The Venezuelan Criollo was bred for hot, tropical flatlands, while the Chilean Criollo was bred for the rugged mountains of the Andes. Both of these horses are extremely hardy and were bred for herding cattle.
