When Ash came to the Ranch in June of 2010, he was skinny and beat up from being picked on at his previous home. After months of confidence building and training, Ash began to thrive as one of our most playful and energetic horses within the herd. In the winter of 2011, he had an unfortunate accident and severely scratched the cornea of his left eye which left him blind. In the winter of 2020, he was diagnosed with skin cancer on that same eyelid. It was in his best interest that the entire eye be removed. He has adapted well and can do anything the other horses can do. He has lived up to his name because he reminds us that beauty can come from ashes when we trust in the Lord. “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me…to give them beauty for ashes…” Isaiah 61:1-3
