Dear Friends,
The season of giving is upon us, and we are deeply grateful for the generosity that has sustained our mission year after year. Last year, we took a leap of faith by hosting an online fundraiser instead of a traditional one, and your incredible support overwhelmed us. Together, we raised over $40,000, surpassing our goal and ensuring we could continue to bring hope and healing to those we serve.
This year, we’re setting our sights even higher. Our goal is to raise $50,000, and we believe—with your help—we can achieve it. The fundraiser kicks off as we share a powerful video story of how God used STR to bring hope to a grieving mother who lost her son to suicide. In a few days, we’ll release another video, featuring the inspiring journey of a young woman who found hope through our ministry. Join us as we celebrate the ultimate source of hope, Jesus Christ, during this season of giving.
This past year, while we experienced the joy of serving hundreds of children at camp, we also faced significant challenges. A water disaster in our Ministry House led to the discovery of black mold, displacing our property manager and his family for six weeks. This house is vital to our ministry—it’s home to our property manager, summer counselors, and serves as a hub for team meetings, youth events, and more. The mold mitigation alone cost over $20,000, and while generous donations helped cover some of the expense, we still have a financial gap to fill.
In addition, we are facing other pressing needs:
• A leaking barn roof
• Road maintenance
• Replacing the day camp kitchen floor
• Rebuilding the retaining wall at our day camp beach
Each of these projects is essential to ensuring we can provide a safe and welcoming space for the children and families we serve. These facilities allow us to run impactful programs and partner with other organizations to extend our reach.
