The Good News
Symbols or their colors are used with beads on a bracelet to help children remember the main points of the Gospel (good news).
God is the Creator of all things, including you! He is perfect and pure. He loves you and is preparing a home in Heaven for you. The Bible says Heaven has a street paved with GOLD. “For God so loved the world, He gave His one and only Son. “ (John 3:16a) A circle reminds us that God is eternal, He never had a beginning and will never have an end.
But there is one thing that can never be in Heaven. That is sin.
Sin is anything that doesn’t please God, and we have all sinned. The Bible says we must be punished for our sins, by being separated from God forever.
DARKNESS represents our sins. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
God has a wonderful plan, so we don’t have to be punished for our sins.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, never did anything wrong. He willingly took our punishment on the cross. God put our sin on Him. Jesus gave his BLOOD for you and me. He died, but He came alive again! Now He is in Heaven. “Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” (Hebrews 9:22b)
There is nothing we can do to earn this free gift of forgiveness and salvation. We can never be good enough to earn it, even if we try. It is only because of what the Lord Jesus did for us that we can have our sins forgiven.
When you accept God’s free gift of grace, you become His friend and His child, and He also gives you the gift of eternal life in Heaven with Him! He forgives your sin, makes your heart clean and shines his LIGHT in your heart and life so you can see clearly which way to go. “Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)
God wants to be your Savior and your Lord. This means that He wants you to give your life to Him completely, and let Him be the boss!
He wants you to get to know Him better, and His Holy Spirit will help you live for Him.
GREEN reminds us of things that grow. You can grow in your relationship with God by telling Him you’re sorry when you sin, talking to Him every day, reading and obeying the Bible, telling others about Him, and going to church and Sunday School. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. “ (1 John 1:9)
A disciple is someone who follows another. Jesus told us to go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) A good way to tell others that you’ve decided to follow Jesus is to get baptized.
Sample Prayer for Salvation: Dear God, thank you for reaching out to me with your love even though I don’t deserve it. I believe Jesus is your Son, that He died for my sins, and rose again. I want to follow Jesus and let you be in charge of my life. Thank you for allowing me to become your child. Please change me according to the truth in your Word and use me in your kingdom. Amen.
