As we turn the page to 2022, we reflect on 2021 with grateful and humble hearts for all that the Lord has done through Strong Tower Ranch and also the many ways in which He has blessed us. We are beyond thankful.
As the COVID-19 restrictions started to loosen their grip on 2021, we were able to look forward to our Horsemanship Programs, Horse Camps, and Day Camps running again after our year of reset.
We were thrilled to have full registration (and a waiting list!) for all our Camps and Programs, and to be able to pour the Hope of Jesus into the children and families who attended. This year saw nearly 500 young people served with our summer Day Camp seeing over 60 children make the decision to follow Christ and 11 baptisms that followed those decisions.
In January of this year, one of our Ranch families experienced the tragic, unexpected loss of their 23-year-old nephew. In his name, donations poured in and the Reach for the Stars scholarship fund was created. We knew that God was taking an unbearable situation and using it for good. This scholarship fund enables us to offer full or partial funding for places at our Camps and in our Horsemanship Programs. This gives children, many coming from and dealing with challenging life situations and circumstances, the opportunity to spend time in the refuge that is Strong Tower Ranch and hear about the hope and healing that is in Jesus. We are so thankful for those who have generously given to Reach for the Stars, which enabled almost $14,000 of full or partially sponsored places to be offered in 2021!
2021 saw the launch of our Youth Leadership Program: a year-round program of monthly youth meetings and the opportunity to pour into our young leaders as they faithfully volunteer with us. This was kicked off by our Youth Leadership Retreat in April, which saw 25 young people on site for the weekend, engaging in team building, Bible study, worship, and fellowship, all under the theme of Servant Leadership. It was a joy and a privilege to be able to pour into these amazing young people and see their hearts for Jesus and for serving in ministry.
Another addition to 2021 was our Legacy Givers: a growing group of donors who commit to give monthly to the Ranch with the aim of having our basic monthly running costs covered. We are so very grateful to all those who have signed up to become a Legacy Giver.
As we said our sad goodbyes to two of our beautiful herd, Gideon and Hadassah, this year, we have welcomed two new additions: Patience and Kayden. As our herd grows and changes, we are thankful for their stories and excited to see how God uses them to speak to the hearts of the children who work with them.
As we close the door on 2021, we continue to give all Glory to God for His provision and His protection. We are so very thankful for our faithful volunteers and supporters, and to those who generously give so that we can continue to share the Hope of Jesus through Strong Tower Ranch.
