Always Give Thanks for Everything

Dear Friends and Family,

It is hard to believe that November has arrived!! What a beautiful fall we have had here in Missouri and God has been so good to all of us at Strong Tower Ranch. Our programs have been going strong with new families and now new friends. We changed the format of our Harvest Hoedown and have had good, positive feedback. The volunteers who made it work are amazing and such a blessing. Our Wrangles took a field trip to another similar ranch in Taylor, MO., and met Troy and Kim Meeder, the founders of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch. It was a great day of bonding and appreciation for our girls. I am so thankful for all those committed to our mission that all I can do is give thanks, which is so fitting since we are entering the season of Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is my most favorite time of year…a time of families coming together, kids coming home from college, no gift buying (my favorite part), quality time, and of course all the delicious food. It is a time we can reflect on all the wonders in our lives. I know there are times when it is hard to find something to be thankful for but God says in Ephesians to always give thanks for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wow…that is very hard sometimes but as my sweet Grandma used to tell me, “There is always someone worse off than you”. When I was younger that just aggravated my self-pity but now that I have a “few” gray hairs and a bit more wisdom I realize how very true and how very heartbreaking that statement is.

I have learned through serving my family and serving at STR that when I serve from a heart of gratitude my soul is well. When I work for the Lord with all my heart and not for man I have immeasurable strength. When I take the time to look into the eyes of those I am serving I feel true communion with my Savior because He is the one who first served me. I am so thankful for all those who have and continue to believe in me and support me prayerfully and financially so I can continue a good work for the Lord.

I am mostly thankful for our Lord Jesus who broke our chains of bondage forever with His single act of sacrifice on the cross. And I am so very grateful that Jesus hears our prayers and answers them, He reaches down and takes hold of our hands and never let’s go.

I pray you all have a blessed Thanksgiving overflowing with gratitude and love.
