Training with a Purpose:

The Strong Tower Ranch Horsemanship Program disciples young people using a safe, educational and fun experience with horses.

Our staff is dedicated to declaring the truth of the gospel, using horses as a tool for relationship building. Because of the willing nature of our horses, we have been able to provide riding opportunities for many in the surrounding area since 2002. Qualified instructors teach children and adults Biblical truths along with horsemanship skills. Trail rides, group demonstrations, and pony rides are also offered. You may have seen our Wrangler flag corps present our nation's colors in local parades and at the home of a U.S. congressman. God has blessed us with a dedicated volunteer staff, a sound and hard-working herd of horses, and a wonderful facility that has made Strong Tower Ranch a fun, safe place to learn and grow.

Horsemanship Camp

"In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands." Psalm 102:25

A strong foundation is essential for many things in life, including relationships. Our horse camps will give the solid foundation it takes to be a skilled, safe rider, while building a relationship of trust and respect with the horse. Those same attributes will be carried over in our daily devotional as we learn more about how we can strengthen our relationship with Jesus.

GATES

Girls Achieving through Training, Encouragement, and Service is a mentoring program designed to teach girls how to strengthen one another through training principles, encouraging one another and service. Gates are used often to protect and keep horses in safe boundaries. Gates are also opened to guide horses into richer, greener pastures. “Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.” Psalm 118:19

The goal of GATES is to reach out and mentor girls, ages 12 and older, who show a willingness to serve. They will be mentored by a spiritually mature Wrangler and assigned a horse. The girls will learn how to do stable chores, care for and take responsibility for their assigned horse. Through this process a deeper development of relationship, trust, responsibility and obedience will be the hopeful result.

GATES Fall session will be held on Saturdays, Sept. 25 though Nov. 6 (12:30 - 2:00). There will be no activities on Oct. 9.

Space is limited, to register or find out avaliability call Lori Brooks at 636-333-0212 Ext.3.

Wrangler Program

This is a discipleship program for teens ages 14-18. The number of Wranglers is limited by the number of instructors and horses involved in the program. When there is a vacancy, instructors may recommend exceptional students for consideration. The decision to invite a student to apply is made by the Horsemanship Program Committee. Should this occur, the student and parent will be contacted by an instructor, and will be given application paperwork to complete. After a trial period of eight weeks, the Committee will make a final decision regarding the student's acceptance into the program. The criteria for consideration include, but are not limited to:

Bible studies/devotions are presented during Wrangler sessions, which are held most Saturday afternoons. Advanced horsemanship instruction will also be provided.

Wranglers are required to work a minimum of two weeks each summer, looking for opportunities to share spiritual values with young campers while providing horsemanship activities. There is a Wrangler Contract and Code of Conduct, based on scriptural principles, that all Wranglers must sign and follow consistently to remain in the program.

Other Wrangler responsibilities include horse care and training, barn and office chores, and preparation for and participation in parades and other events.
