I love to see how God is working things out at Strong Tower Ranch; He is always up to something grand. I look around and think, is this really my world? A world I would dream about as a little girl but never considered what God had in His plans, so I quit dreaming… My story is so similar to many who get involved in the programs at STR; they wouldn’t have a chance in the horse world due to an amassing of reasons. God has given me this amazing gift with the horses at STR that I have been able to share with so many, it has been a blessing beyond compare to serve Him this way. I am overwhelmed!! My personal dream, that I buried so long ago, becomes a reality every time a child, teen or adult gets to touch a horse for the first time, groom that horse and then to ride. When I see the contagious smiles break out on the faces of so many as they experience this “dream come true” I know He is truly here.
I am so thankful God has given me the opportunity to serve at Strong Tower Ranch in the capacity that I serve; it goes beyond what I could have done on my own. There is an old song which has a line that says, “You took my schemes and stole my dreams and made a miracle of me”. Jesus’ plan is always better than my best set plan and oh, what a joy, what an honor to share the Good News with so many through the life lessons we learn while working with horses.
Another dream I didn’t know I had, but God did, is to shepherd young ladies’ hearts. They come to the ranch during a time of their life that is so volatile and for a while they are poured into with love, truth, challenge and leadership opportunities. They then move on to another chapter of their life. Once in a while, I will hear from one of these girls and I would like to share a couple heart-felt comments I recently received from graduated Wranglers:
“I love you dearly, and truly miss the days where life was nothing more than an afternoon in the saddle, and scorching summers with horseflies and ticks. You, the ranch, and all the people that I met there will always have such a special place in my heart since you guys helped grow me in my faith, my love for horses, and love for other people.” STR Alumni Wrangler
“I LOVE horses!!! Thank you Strong Tower Ranch for allowing me to love on your horses for a while. Some of my absolute best moments as a teen were spent in the barn with Mark or Raleigh.” STR Alumni Wrangler
I take this responsibility to shepherd and train these teens very seriously. I know that the programs these girls go through at the Ranch impacts their life for eternity. You can help support this mission by supporting me this summer. All contributions are appreciated, especially prayer!
